GCSE Geography Edexcel B – Investigating Geographical Issues How is it assessed?Įxamination Board/Course Code: Edexcel Geography B (1GB0) This is completed through the Field Studies Council and the cost is approximately £50 - £80 per student. In order to meet the compulsory exam board requirements, 2 days of non-residential fieldwork is incorporated and it is mandatory that all Geography students attend and participate in the fieldwork. Global Geographical Issues: 37.5%, 94 marks, 1 hour and 30 minutes Hazardous Earth – Studies of tropical storms and tectonic hazards.In year 9 students are learning about the tropical rainforest and have the great opportunity to explore different biomes, such as the tropical rainforest, at Wisley Garden. Students can qualify to compete in a Geography Quiz against other schools in the area. Students in Geography will have many opportunities for extracurricular activities, starting with the World Wise Quiz. Pupils will complete an assessment and a knowledge test every half-term.
